When looking for the best place to say in Southern California, you have many options as well as factors to consider. But one thing is for certain, choosing Laguna Beach puts you smack dab in the middle of everything desirable. Right in the center and accessible to the action in Los Angeles and in San Diego. Additionally, Laguna Beach is very convenient to Temecula, Ca which is home to some amazing wineries like Bottaia and Wilson Creek known for their “Almond” sparkling wine. You may remember that before “The Hills” on MTV put Laguna Beach on the map, or The Real Housewives of Orange County on Bravo giving it a permanent hashtag on social media; there was a thriving gay scene that cultivated style and commanded a culture injection in this picturesque ocean town.

Many stars, (as it is rumored), and closeted members of the gay community reaching back to the late 50’s & 60’s and all the way up to the 80’s, (in some cases) during the “Lavender marriage” phase, would find their way to Laguna to get away from the Hollywood hustle and bustle to let their hair down, on the weekends or between rehearsals. Laguna Beach was formerly known as “San Francisco South” or the “Orange Curtain”. With the pandemic of 2020 taking out a lot of businesses, “Main Street” one of the last gay historical standing bars in town, finally made it’s exit.
